The Law Student —the highly anticipated short story prequel to his milestone novel, The French Illusion—is an absolute 5-star masterclass in character origin. It provides the perfect, essential foundation for anyone who loved or is getting ready to dive into the main book.
On a personal note: I actually read the ARC The French Illusion first so it was a treat to read the prequel afterwards. I adore Michael Beck and was excited to see he was narrating. I would have loved a full length book as more my style than The French Illusion. Plus I am a native of Davidson, NC area and love the town.
