New York Times bestselling author Alice Hoffman writes about the chapters of our lives, the lengths friends will go for each other—and the love that will carry us through and beyond.
Journalist Sara Miller and poet Charlotte Blake met at a writers’ group in their twenties and agreed on one thing: They didn’t like the other writers. So every Tuesday, the two met alone. It was the start of the bond that would shape their lives.
Somehow, forty years slipped by, time that included their literary lives, as well as relationships lost and found and shared travels that changed them forever. As they come to terms with their remaining unwritten pages, they realize that through each rough draft and each courageous revision, their connection has been their compass.
Tender, wise, and deeply touching, The Writers is a heartfelt story about companionship, creativity, and the people who make us who we are. Sometimes the truest love story is the one about the friend who stays for every chapter.
