You never know what goes on behind closed doors…
After my relationship breaks down, I agree to house-sit my brother Dexter's posh apartment whilst he’s out of the country. It will give me some much needed head space.
Sitting on the balcony one sweltering summer's night in the midst of a power cut, I'm given a secret window into the lives of the residents in the opposite building, and I see more than I should.
I'm drawn to a man in the Penthouse and watch him closely; when a striking woman joins him on the balcony, I can’t tear my eyes away.
The following weekend a woman matching her exact description is reported missing. She’s not been seen since that fateful night.
When I go to the police, the man in the penthouse has a cast-iron alibi and denies she was ever there.
I know what I saw and I can’t let it go.
The deeper I dig, the more dangerous things become.
Someone is watching me too. Just how much can I trust the neighbours?
The thrilling new read for fans of Freida McFadden, Claire McGowan and Lisa Jewell.

My Review
Wild. Wicked. Sinister. Shocking!
International bestselling author Keri Beevis (favorite) returns with THE HOUSE SITTER, a fast-paced, action-filled, sizzling thriller that will leave you on the edge of your seat from page one to the jaw-dropping finale.
While housesitting for her brother in his posh city apartment, a woman becomes convinced that one of his neighbors is hiding a dangerous secret. After witnessing something that turns into a full-blown, suspenseful mystery, she may get more than she bargained for.
About...
Nina has decided not to marry the man she planned and after the breakup, she decides to house-sit for her brother, Dexter's posh city apartment.
She sees a man and a woman on a neighboring balcony and is drawn to them to pass the time. Did they see her watching? She imagines all kinds of scenarios. Things look suspicious.
However, when she learns that this woman on the balcony is missing on the news, she is pulled into the dark mystery and determined to find out what is going on with this Julian guy who lives in the penthouse.
Turns out there is more than one missing woman related to this man. As Nina delves deeper into the mystery, she uncovers a series of disappearances linked to Julian, the man in the penthouse.
My thoughts...
Buckle up, buttercup, get ready for a WILD roller coaster ride! From the stunning front cover, title, and Keri's creative mind and expert writing, you will be drawn into this fascinating thriller with more unexpected twists than you can imagine!
With an array of characters that become involved, surrounding this one man, things spiral out of control, and everyone who gets too close is in danger. But things are not as they seem.
From Nina, Zac, Julian, Leonard (another nosy neighbor), and Tabitha, you will be entertained and engrossed with vibes of The Girl on the Train, Woman in the Window, and Rear Window. Like in these novels, the characters in 'THE HOUSE SITTER' are intricately connected, and the author cleverly pulls out ALL the stops. Prime for the big or small screen.
What passes the time simply by watching her brother's neighbors turns into MURDER (s), but leave it up to Queen Beevis to turn the simple pastime into something complex, captivating, suspenseful, and deliciously wicked!
She knows how to keep you on your toes with twists, turns, and unexpected surprises. This one was very realistic! A narrative driven by compelling characters and a gripping plot!
If you have not read Keri Beevis's work, you are missing out and in for a rare treat! She is a pro.
Recs...

About the Author

Keri Beevis is the internationally bestselling author of Deep Dark Secrets, Dying To Tell, The Sleepover, and the global smash hit, The Summer House. Her books have sold over half a million copies and been translated into seven different languages.
Her other books include the Rebecca Angell Series: M for Murder and D for Dead, Trust No One, Every Little Breath, The People Next Door, With Friends Like These, The House in the Woods (formerly published as The Boat House), Nowhere To Hide and The Cottage by the Sea. She wrote her first novel at age twenty, but it was several years before she was published after winning a contract in the New Novels Competition 2012.
Born in the village of Old Catton, less than a mile from where Anna Sewell was living when she wrote Black Beauty, Keri had a passion for reading and writing from a young age, though her tastes veered more to the macabre.
Today she still lives in Norfolk, along with her mischievous kitties, Ellie, Poppy and Finn, and a plentiful supply of red wine (her writing fuel). When she’s not writing, she loves movies (horror, thriller, romcom, are her go to) and live music – especially indie (her favourite band are Wolf Alice. If you haven’t heard of them, check them out). She is also big on dinner parties, exploring creepy places, and gets extremely competitive in local pub quizzes.
In 2019, Keri was signed by Bloodhound Books and her first release with them, the psychological thriller, Dying To Tell, which is set in her beautiful home county of Norfolk, went on to be a huge bestseller, hitting the top 25 in the UK and the no. 1 spot in Australia. Her second book, Deep Dark Secrets was also a top 100 Amazon bestseller..
2021 saw her move to Boldwood Books and her first release, The Sleepover, was a UK top 10 bestseller, while The Summer House was a global summer hit.. The House in the Woods (formerly titled The Boat House) was released in August 2023, followed by the rerelease of Trust No One and Every Little Breath in September, then top 100 bestsellers, Nowhere To Hide and The Cottage by the Sea in 2024.. Her Boldwood titles alone have sold over half a million copies.
Keri’s brand new psychological thriller, The House Sitter, will be released in May 2025, and is available to pre-order now. WEBSITE
