Linwood Barclay (favorite author) returns with NOT A WORD, an electrifying, white-knuckle masterpiece of domestic suspense. This blistering thriller delivers a kinetic, volt-charged narrative that sends a jolt of pure adrenaline straight to your system from page one.
The Hook
A man walks into his parents' suburban Toronto home for a casual visit, only to discover his father dead in bed next to a murdered stranger he thought was his mom—and then his phone lights up with a call from his actual mother.

My Thoughts
When I cracked open the first page, I knew I was at the mercy of a storytelling mastermind who knows exactly how to manipulate your heart rate. Having read his entire catalog, I can safely say Barclay has constructed his most kinetic, volt-charged puzzle yet. The pacing is absolutely blistering—short, sharp chapters terminate in jolting cliffhangers that practically force your fingers to flip the page. While the web of big-pharma opioid corruption and suburban lies gets wildly complex, the raw, frenetic panic of Reece trying to protect his family anchors the story in pure, relatable emotion. It is a white-knuckle countdown where the tension never dips; it just constantly escalates until the incendiary final showdown.
